FL SUN is working with groups of neighbors and local community organizations to form solar co-ops to make it easy to save on solar and build a community of solar supporters.

FL SUN provides the unbiased technical support you need to get up and running. We answer technical and financial questions. We’re your consumer advocate with installers and help you line up financing and innovative incentives.  The co-ops are run by and for their members—so that everyone gets the best, most affordable solar installation possible.

Past Co-ops:

East Orange (Formerly Orlando-Winter Park) Co-op

Homeowners living east of Interstate 4 in Orange County (formerly limited to the cities of Orlando and Winter Park)  went solar together and got a discount!   This Co-op is part of a local grassroots effort to increase the use of solar energy and to lower installation and equipment costs through a bulk purchase process.

The co-op was organized by Central Florida Solar Advocates.   Eighty homeowners joined the Co-op between the launch on May 16, 2015 and the deadline on Oct 31.

Co-op  members selected  SEM Power as their solar installer.

West Orange Solar Co-op

Also organized by Central Florida Solar Advocates, the West Orange Solar Co-op engaged homeowners west of Interstate 4 in Orange County.  142 members joined the West Orange Co-op. The co-op selected SEM Power as their solar installer.
